The Wicker's est. 2010

Today is my 4 year anniversary. I can't believe all the things that has happened in 4 short years! We had a baby, bought a house, bought (and paid off) a car, adopted a cat and bought a poodle!

But lets back up and I'll tell you our little love story.

We went to high school together. We never really hung out but we hung out with the same group of people... does that make sense?

This was our very first picture in high school. We were juniors and this was after prom. After Chad & I started dating, I kept this picture in my car... that's why it looks the way it does. I wish I had scanned it before I ruined it... but oh well!

Don't we look like babies?!?! We were only 17!

Fast forward 4 years... We were both at Christmas party (December 17, 2007) being thrown by my best friend ASHLEY! We started talking, and never stopped! I fell pretty hard from the get-go! There was only one problem, I lived 2 hours away in Starkville.

This was from that night.... Our first official picture.

On New Years 2007, Chad asked me to be his girlfriend.

I always wanted to go to cosmetology school and Chad is the one who persuaded me to go. So I moved from Starkville to my parent's house and started school in August 2007. I now lived 3 hours away from Chad. We were back and forth from each other's PARENT'S house every weekend. We talked and texted constantly. Chad always made me laugh.

I straightened my hair a lot before Chad and I started dating, but he said he didn't like it straight... so guess what? I don't straighten it anymore... isn't that what you do for the one you love? Plus IT TOOK FOREVER!!

Aren't these funny?

In 2008 Chad got his first apartment. One weekend while I was visiting him, I got a cat. His name was Vegas. He was an all white cat and I loved him dearly! So much, that I changed schools and moved in with Chad. I couldn't live 3 hours away from Vegas! Wink! Wink! (When Reeves was born, Vegas wouldn't stop jumping in his crib... looking back I'm sure Vegas would have been fine but I was a first time mom and it scared me to death! So Vegas had to go live somewhere else. I still miss him terribly!).

In 2009 we got our german shepherd Deigo.

Family photo...

We also moved into our first house in 2009. It was a rental, it was tiny but we LOVED it.

You can tell I was in cosmetology school by my hair color!

My 25 birthday... 2009

In March 2010 we decided to get married. Chad had decided to go back to school at Ole Miss (he was halfway through) in the fall so we knew we wanted to get married before August.

Doesn't every southern woman want to be a June bride? Well, I did. So we gave my parents 3 months to plan our wedding.

We wanted it to be small and at my parent's house. That is where I grew up. Its a special place and it will always be in my family.

My dad built the arbor we stood under (yes, it's still there!!).

On June 26, 2010 at 6:30 pm we said I DO!

A train even passed through in the middle of the ceremony. FYI: there is a train track about a mile away from my parent's house. We went out 3 days in a row at 6:30 to see if a train would pass. It didn't except during the wedding. Which was fine because my dad was stressed (I'm his only little girl) and it made everybody laugh! Plus my dad (and now my little brother) works for CN Railroad so it was fitting.

We took the train to New Orleans for our honeymoon... Neither of us had ever been to NOLA so we had so much fun exploring together!

After we got home from our honeymoon we went on a couple trips with friends and a few Ole Miss football games...

But three month into our marriage I got the most awesome news, I WAS PREGNANT!!!

This was on our baby moon... I think I was 7 months pregnant.

And on July 3, 2011 at 3:15 am we became parents to an amazing little boy, Reeves.

This is our first family photo... somehow we didn't get one at the hospital.

Our life with Reeves has been the best adventure so far....

I'll leave you with a few random pictures from the last couple of years.....

I love you Chad. More than anything in the whole world!

Here's to the next 50 years!!!

Front Flowerbed... again

Chad's mom is doing some spring cleaning. She has given us all kinds of awesome things, but the most exciting thing has been some large bricks! Which gave us the incentive to re-do the front flowrer bed... again!

This is what it looked like last time we cleaned it out and put down pine straw.

Notice the sad little tree in the front yard. It has been the same exact size since we planted it (2 years ago). Does anybody know what it is or why it's not growing?!

We started by cleaning the beds out and putting the bricks down. We have always wanted a side walk, but that would cost more money than we are wanting to spend right now. For now, we just made a fake walkway right in front of the door.... you'll see.

We had so much grass growing over the beds, Chad just used the weedeater and cleared it all out. It saved time, we would have been there for hours pulling all of that out!

Next we decided on black mulch. Home Depot was having a sell on mulch. 4- 2 cu ft for $10! We got 8 bags. Then we got 4 bags of red lava rocks for the walkway.

Would you be surprised if I told you we had to go to Home Depot twice?

After we decided on what we were going to put in the beds, we had to clean it out really good and level the walkway.

We had originally decided to use the 4 walking stones along with the lava rocks, but quickly decided against that.

Here's the final product!!!

We LOVE it!!!

Have ya'll done any big outside projects lately?
